My ten year old son was very slow in his reading and writing, and had started to become reluctant to attend school on literacy focused days.
Following recommendations from an educational psychiatrist, we started seeing MR Kahan in the hope of identifying if and how Ben’s visual processing might be affecting his reading and writing. Following a very thorough examination, Mr Kahan was very clear as to the issues that needed to be addressed. We were given exercises to do daily at home – tailored to the amount of time we felt able to commit to. Lenses were also provided.
After a few months, it was evident that Ben was making progress with the exercises set. His handwriting speed increased and his teacher has noted significant improvements in his reading. Most importantly, Ben is more confident in tackling literacy lessons. We have benefited from Mr Kahans professional and enthusiastic approach to helping Ben overcome his abilities.
